BYZANTINE FRESCO TECHNIQUES – Multi-Unit FSOA Individual Course (Private via Zoom)
Course Description:
Learn painting techniques as practiced in Byzantium and, presently, in the Orthodox Christian tradition as well as details of wall and panel preparation. Students study specific methods of applying color and painting principles of the “canon” as well as discover merging points and cross-pollination with Italian frescoes.
Course is Private livestreamed from our studio via Zoom. You are the only student in the class. Course will take 5 days (non consecutive, can be scheduled over 1-3 months).

This course is composed of 3 (4+ hr) Fresco, Sgraffito Private Workshop Livestream Units and 2 (3+ hr) Follow-Along Livestream Practice Sessions. Please note – class length hours indicated are for the general reference, be prepared for the lesson to take longer.
At the end of the course you will receive "FSOA Acknowledgement Certificate". You will also have the option to prepare and submit work for the review and test for the Fresco School Certificate of Course Completion (separate fee applies).
Enrollment Process:
Upon enrollment you will receive FS Membership and BFF Video Tutorials will be sent to your billing address. Please contact us as soon as you receive the Tutorials and we will set the starting date of your class (If you are a FS Member already – we will reach out to you). Please note that it will take you some time to prepare for your first class.

Your classes will have homework and will start once you are ready. Generally, unless other-ways agreed, classes are 1 week apart to give you ample time to prepare.

- Day 2 – Unit 2 – Byzantine Techniques – Part 1 (Foundations)
- Day 3 – Follow Along Session 1 – (Individually Planned)
- Day 4 – Unit 3 – Byzantine Techniques – Part 2 (Details)
- Day 5 – Follow Along Session 2 – (Individually Planned)
Communication during the Course:
We are available to you via email on/or phone between classes as needed from the day of the enrollment.
Upon course completion, as a FS Member, you will have continuing post class support indefinitely.
